In 2024, I was commissioned as the photographer for Study for a Curator's Talk, a 60-minute public performance and dialogue by Aylin Abbasi, Ash Barbu, and Cara Tierney, created in response to the group exhibition Origin Story at Karsh-Masson Gallery in Ottawa. The work invited the audience into a live reconsideration of exhibition-making through trans and queer perspectives. My approach was to capture the fluidity of movement and the shifting dynamics between the artists and the audience. Documenting a performance that was both critical and participatory required sensitivity to proximity—being close enough to frame key moments without disrupting the natural rhythm of the piece.
