I’m Armin Shohrati, an Iranian visual artist, filmmaker, and photographer based in Ottawa, Canada. Since 2022, my practice has explored the emotional and psychological experiences of immigration through photography, film, performance, and video installation.
My work often begins with questions of displacement, memory, belonging, and connection. I am particularly interested in how personal experiences can become shared spaces for dialogue and collaboration. Through working with others who have experienced similar journeys, I use my practice to explore these experiences collectively, creating works that move between personal memory and shared experience.
